What I believe you are referring to is the Detheline Glycol that they found in the one high nicotine cartridge from the NJoy company. What they found was less than 1% and is far from what would be needed to harm you. I seen somewhere while I was doing research that you would have to ingest more than 1000 grams of Detheline Glycol to be harmed by it.

I do not believe that Detheline Glycol is found in traditional cigarette but I am sure that it would look like a vitamin compared to some of the things that are.

I have been using an electronic cigarette for a little over two months now and I am head over heals about them. I have not been using tobacco cigarettes since the day I received my starter kit. In fact the last time I had one was the first day I received my starter kit but forgot to bring my electronic cigarette with me. From there on out I always have one or two on me :)

Here is a site that has a bunch of good deals as well as a pile of good information. It should help you out.

If anything I suggest that you get an electronic cigarette with a 30 day guarantee. That way if you decide you do not like it you can simply send it back and get a refund. You really don't have anything to loose and a whole lot to gain.
References :
http://www.perfectelectroniccigarette.com/

From what I understand the electronic cigarettes contain most of the same harmful ingredients as a regular cigarette, The point is to not have any smoke, making it easier for smokers to smoke in places that don't allow smoking. I do know of these one particular electronic cigarettes ( http://www.healthbeautyncs.com/rd_p?p=186122&t=9530&gift=29465&a=29465-yanswers ) that come in different levels, and I have been told that you can use these levels to gradually decrease the amount of nicotine and eventually ween yourself off of it. The link i gave is a starter kit (since you say you never used them before, but are interested). Retails for $165, but its a lot cheaper on that site.
